About Sara Jenne echerd
I’ve been painting regularly since the age of 13. For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a drive to create. Being in the studio, working with my brushes and transforming a blank canvas into a work of art, has been my escape. It allows me to do something I love where there aren’t any right or wrong answers, only my hands designing my next work of art.
Being exposed to the arts at a young age has shaped who I am, even decades later. From the beginning, my mom was a huge supporter of my interest in art and now my two daughters and my husband cheer me on.
Each time I get the chance to connect with like-minded artists, gallery owners, and collectors, I feel a renewed sense of passion and creativity welling up inside of me. I also feel inspired by hiking and being in nature.
In my free time, I love to visit museums, see live music, and visit galleries. You’ll often find me whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen, too!
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from The Cleveland Institute of Art. I’ve also recieved training from The Maryland Institute of Art and the Penland School of Crafts.
Jenne Fine Arts, pronounced Jenny, seemed like the natural fit since I’m Sara Jenne Echerd. Jenne is my maiden name and I made the decision to keep it as my signature even once I was married; it feels like a way to stay connected to my past and my family.
